History and Formation

Rapture Revival Ministries was founded by Rev. Gary Cutler at Mt. Erie, Illinois, in December of 1989. The motivation for it grew out of ideological convictions that were developed through Rev. Cutler's varied experiences as pastor, missionary, and Christian educator over a period of nearly twenty years. The autobiographical story of this development has been recorded on a cassette tape, entitled "One Eureka Moment: An Introduction To Wesleyan Bible Prophecy." This tape is now available through an ordering form that may be accessed from here, or from the Products menu in this website
Vision and Task
Ourfirst grandchild, Mattelynn Rose Cutler, pictured below, reminds us that for a Christian, the future is always as bright as the promises of God! Thus, we cannot help but be an eternal o
ptimist.
This being the case, and because the success of our mind-awakening ministry depends entirely on the positive responses that are generated by it, prayers for the divine intervention and empowerment are always our top priority. Our prayer is that God will sovereignly open men's hearts and open men's minds and cause them to have an interest and a desire to know the truth. Unless the Lord works here, all else we do is but in vain.
We fully realize how out-of-step and unpopular our mission is, and most certainly are we aware of the indifference and the prejudicial opposition that we face in doing it. Nevertheless, our projections on the human level are to be "cutting edge" in the following regards:
1. To focus on the CLARITY of our core message. The aim is to initiate intellectual awareness, or to be "conscious-raising," among a population that is largely submerged in a world view mentality gestalt long informed by the widespread false teachings of popular dispensational premillennialism (also referred to throughout this website as "Scofield/Darbyism"). Such teachings are "antinomian" (meaning "lawless") ideology that produces worldly apostasy in one-time Christian churches. Our job is to attempt to stem, if not wholly reverse, that flood-tide of apostasy now leading our society and our nation to ruin and to judgment.
2. To create CONVICTION about the truth. The aim is to produce sound Christian conversion experiences. This means helping increasing numbers of people get over and give up the antinomian false teachings of Scofield/Darbyism to embrace the Scriptural post-tribulational a-millennial doctrine of Christ's second coming, and the full salvation viewpoint, that we teach. Modern liberal theology denies that Jesus had a doctrine of eschatology that can be rationally known. We define our self as a biblical fundamentalist and sworn foe of modern liberal theology, however, at this very juncture. That is, in the belief that the New Testament does indeed present a "doctrine" of eschatology that can be rationally known, and that this doctrine of the Bible is not the "liberal" theory of classic dispensational premillennialism.
3. To encourage everyone to make a complete CONSECRATION of their all to Christ. The aim is to lead true Christian believers into the full cleansing of entire sanctification. Promoting experiential holiness lies at the center of all we do.
4. To keep CONCENTRATED on our call to this work of reformation. We know that we are divinely called to be a modern-day "reformer," and we will do the work of reformation, --like Noah before the flood, --like Jeremiah to the Jews before the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 B. C., --like "Athanasius against the world" in the Arian controversy of the third Christian century, --and, like Martin Luther in conflict with the degeneracy of the medieval Roman church, --no man forbidding us. And whatever the outcome, whether men will hear, or whether they will forebear, when our job on earth is done, at the end of life's day, we will go home to a glorious coronation.
